Pictaria

Privacy, in plain language.

Pictaria exists because photos belong on your hardware. This page says exactly what each piece does and doesn't do with your data. Last updated July 2026.

Pictaria Frame (the app)

Your photos travel only between the app and your own servers — your Immich instance, and your Pictaria Server if you run one. The app has no accounts and sends nothing to us.

  • Crash reporting is the single optional exception: anonymized crash reports (via Sentry) with URLs and IP addresses scrubbed before sending, no photos, no personal data, no session tracking. You can turn it off in Settings → Extras at any time.
  • No analytics. We don't measure what you do in the app. Play Store install statistics are all we ever see.
  • Purchases are processed by Google Play; we receive no card details.

Pictaria Server

It phones home to no one — us included. The container talks to your Immich server, your frames, and any AI provider you explicitly configure. That's the entire list.

  • AI enrichment sends photos only to the provider you choose. Choose a local one (LM Studio, Ollama) and they never leave your machine at all.
  • No telemetry, no update pings, no license checks. Supporter keys are verified offline against a public key baked into the code.
  • All data it produces (captions, decisions, insights) lives in its data directory on your disk — yours to back up or delete.

This website

  • No cookies — and analytics that can't follow you. We count page views and clicks (via Mixpanel) to learn which pages matter. Nothing is stored on your device — no cookies, no local storage — so visits can't be linked to you across pages or over time, and we honor your browser's Do Not Track setting. Your IP address is used to infer an approximate, city-level location and nothing else.
  • If you join the launch list or use the contact form, we receive the email address you give us and use it only for that purpose — launch announcements or answering you. Unsubscribing is one reply. We never share or sell addresses.
  • Supporter contributions are processed by Stripe as merchant of record; we see your email and what you bought, never your card number.
