Pictaria Frame — Terms of Use

The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and AEDR Advisors LLC ("Pictaria," "we") covering the Pictaria Frame app. The app is distributed through Google Play, so Google Play's terms also apply. These terms take effect when you affirmatively accept them in the app.

Your license to use the app

Subject to the rights Google Play grants you and rights that local law does not allow us to limit, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive license to install and use Pictaria Frame on Android devices you own or control, including permitted family use, for what it's built for: displaying and interacting with your photo library. Don't copy, resell, transfer, or redistribute the app except as Google Play or the law allows, and don't reverse-engineer it except where the law allows that despite this term.

Your photos stay yours

The app claims no rights over your photos, your library, or anything it displays. Your photos and photo metadata never pass through Pictaria-operated infrastructure. They travel only among the app, the servers you configure, and providers you choose through those systems. There are no accounts and no Pictaria-operated photo, voice, or purchase services behind the app.

When you use voice commands, the speech-recognition service configured on your Android device processes the audio to produce a transcript. Depending on your device and provider settings, that may happen on the device or on the provider's remote servers. Pictaria does not receive the recording. The resulting transcript stays in the app unless the command needs your Pictaria Server to carry it out. See the privacy policy for the complete data story.

Your servers, your providers

Pictaria Frame connects to things that are yours: your Immich server, your Pictaria Server, and any AI provider you configure with your own keys. Those services are yours to run and theirs to operate — we're not responsible for their availability, their pricing, or their conduct, and their own terms and privacy policies apply. Pictaria Server itself is free software governed by its own license, not these terms.

AI answers are color commentary

Voice answers — "what's interesting about this photo," "tell me…," and friends — are generated by the AI provider you configured, and like all AI output they can be wrong, incomplete, or confidently odd. Enjoy them as color commentary on your memories, not as a system of record or a source of medical, legal, financial, safety, or other professional advice.

Purchases

The app is free to use with one album of up to 100 photos. Optional one-time upgrades — no subscription — unlock additional features and are processed through Google Play. Refunds are available when required under Google Play's policies or applicable law. You may request one through Google Play or write to support@pictaria.ai. Purchases restore automatically on devices signed into the same Play account.

Crash reporting

Optional, off until you say yes at setup, and always revocable in Settings → Diagnostics. What a report does and doesn't contain is described in the privacy policy and the Frame guide.

Updates and changes

The app updates over time; features may be added, changed, or retired. That does not take away rights in features you already purchased or remedies available under Google Play's terms or mandatory local law. Compatibility targets (Android versions, Immich versions) follow what the documentation states rather than a permanent promise, and we do not promise any specific future feature.

Ending the agreement

You can end it anytime by uninstalling the app. The license ends if you materially breach these terms, subject to rights Google Play or mandatory law gives you. Sections that by their nature should survive (your content staying yours, disclaimers, liability limits) survive.

No warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the app is capped at the greater of $50 or the amount you paid for app purchases in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including loss of data. Keep backups; the docs say this often because we mean it.

Where the law gives you rights these terms cannot limit, the law wins. Nothing in these terms — including the license, warranty disclaimer, liability limit, or governing-law clause — reduces mandatory rights or remedies where you live. If you're in a jurisdiction with statutory consumer guarantees (the EU and UK among them), those rights continue to apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except that this choice does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and its effective date. Changes apply prospectively. Material changes will be presented in the app before they take effect when notice or renewed acceptance is required; we may also mention them on the blog.
